Hello Coles Crossing Neighbors!
My name is Rich Henderson, and I’m pleased to announce my candidacy for the Coles Crossing HOA Board.
I am a 17-year resident of Coles Crossing, moving here in 2007 shortly after my wife Melissa gave birth to our twin daughters and we relocated to the Houston area. We wanted to live in a family-centric community with exemplary schools and beautiful natural surroundings — Coles Crossing was the obvious choice.
Our daughters thrived at Sampson Elementary before moving to Spillane and now Cy-Woods High School, where they are currently juniors. Our family has been deeply involved in the community, with Melissa volunteering for Sampson Elementary, the Coles Crocs Swim Team, and our daughters’ Girl Scout Troop. She also used her CPA background to help investigate the former HOA Board President who committed theft.
Witnessing those events, along with the impact of Hurricane Harvey on our neighborhood, made me realize it was my time to step up. In 2018, together with a small group of neighbors, I founded the Coles Crossing Dads Club, where I proudly served as President since its beginning.
About the Dads Club:
- Mission: To strengthen Coles Crossing through the fellowship of its fathers.
- Raised over $75,000 from fundraisers, including our annual BBQ Cook-Off.
- Awarded scholarships to neighborhood seniors and provided funds to Coles kids with medical needs.
- Sponsored the Coles Crocs Swim Team and the Sampson PTO.
- Completed home projects for neighbors in need.
- Organized the annual Christmas Lights Contest.
- Recently contributed to the construction of the new Sampson playground.
Leading over 70 Coles Dads for the betterment of our community has been one of my proudest accomplishments.
Professional Background:
I graduated from Texas A&M University and have worked in the automotive industry for 26 years. Today, I serve as a Corporate Operations Manager with Volkswagen Group of America, overseeing the most profitable and highest market-share Volkswagen dealership group in the region.
I recently stepped down as President of the Dads Club. I see serving on the Coles Crossing HOA Board as a natural next step in my community service journey — and I humbly ask for your support and your vote.
