Community Forum: Let’s Talk About the Jarvis Property
We believe the future of Coles Crossing should be shaped by the community, not behind closed doors. That’s why we’re putting together a Community Forum — a respectful, transparent space for neighbors, experts, and stakeholders to come together and discuss the Jarvis property.
Both Dan Forlenza and Rich Henderson have committed to supporting this forum if elected to the HOA Board. While it’s unlikely the forum can be organized before the upcoming election, it will be a top priority immediately afterward.
Purpose of the Forum
The goal of the forum is simple: To present facts, hear from all sides, and understand the full impact of any decision regarding the 58-acre Jarvis property owned by the HOA.
We’ll invite presentations from:
- Subject matter experts (SMEs) on flood control, land use, conservation, and real estate
- Residents, including those who support and oppose donating the land
- Stakeholders from Harris County who can explain their position and answer questions
This won’t be a shouting match. It will be a moderated, respectful discussion focused on helping residents make informed decisions and rebuild trust.
Recruiting Subject Matter Experts
We’re actively seeking qualified experts to participate in the forum. Areas of expertise may include:
- Floodplain management & drainage (engineers, hydrologists)
- Real estate appraisal & land development
- Environmental conservation & wetlands law
- HOA legal and governance issues
- Public engagement, urban planning, or nonprofit land use

Gathering Resident Feedback
We’ve already begun reviewing hundreds of resident comments across Facebook threads on the Coles Crossing Unofficial Page. These concerns, questions, and suggestions will be compiled and organized to help shape the forum agenda.
We also plan to launch a feedback form here on ColesVote.com to ensure every resident can have their voice heard — even if they can’t attend in person.
Forum Details: Coming Soon
We are currently working to:
- Reserve a venue (likely the Coles Crossing Community Center)
- Coordinate with county officials and guest speakers
- Finalize the format and agenda
Sign up below to receive updates when dates and details are announced.

This forum will only succeed with the support of neighbors like you.
